Good Men Project: It’s Not Just for Men

I am thrilled to announce that I am now a regular contributor to Good Men Project, one of the most dynamic, thought-provoking, forward-thinking on-line magazines around. GMP was started by venture capitalist turned-writer Tom Matlock and his business partner James Houghton. They wanted to host a national conversation about what it means to be a good man in America today.

Good Men Project is not just for men. It’s for anyone who has ever struggled with his or her own imperfections, who strives, and sometimes fails, to do the right thing, who endeavors to make meaning in an increasingly fractious and complex world.

You won’t find Tea Partiers or Fox News enthusiasts writing for GMP. But you will find men and women who recognize the world is far more gray than black, that despair and redemption are often intertwined.

My three-part Mother and Child Reunion series that ran on Perils of Divorced Pauline has been reincarnated on GMP as My Son’s Walkabout. It will be the springboard for future installments about Luca’s unfolding journey at the boarding school where he now resides–and my struggles to help a troubled teen grow into a good young man.

Be sure to check out the other writers on GMP. Gabi Coatsworth, for instance, has a poignant, black-humorous column that chronicles her attempts to stay sane while raising sons with mental illness.

Part of the proceeds from Good Men Project go to non-profits that support at-risk boys. There’s a Good Men Project book to buy if you’re so inclined.

So, visit. Read. Reflect. Comment. Join in the converation.

About perilsofdivorcedpauline

I am a survivor of a world-class gnarly divorce. My dastardly ex-husband is suing me for full custody of my son, and more time with my daughter. He’s super-rich and I’m super-not. You get the picture.
